Jason and Wendy Hand transitioned from running a complex transport business to operating an InXpress franchise, looking for a simpler and more sustainable model. By stepping away from the challenges of managing drivers and carriers, they were able to focus on customer relationships and build a lean, profitable operation.
From the outset, they set a bold goal: achieve $1 million in profit. Their strategy centred on customer retention, ambitious sales targets, and full transparency. Weekly accountability meetings and open access to performance data created a culture of trust and ownership. Mistakes were treated as opportunities to learn, strengthening both team engagement and client confidence.
Their efforts brought national and global recognition. In 2019, alongside business partner David Begg, they won QLD/NT Franchise of the Year – Single Unit (two staff or more) at the Franchise Council of Australia’s Excellence in Franchising Awards. That same year, they were also named InXpress Franchise of the Year and received the Top Gun Award, celebrating their success across the global network.
Beyond financial milestones and industry awards, Jason and Wendy credit their success to teamwork, resilience, and long-term commitment. Today, their franchise gives them not only strong business growth but also family time, freedom, and purpose. Their advice to other entrepreneurs is clear: trust the process, invest in people, and focus on progress over perfection.
