Nando’s has officially opened its newest restaurant at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre in Queensland, bringing its famous PERi-PERi chicken to one of Brisbane’s busiest retail hubs. The launch follows the franchise’s recent Merrylands opening in Western Sydney, underscoring Nando’s accelerating national rollout and growing footprint across Australia.
To celebrate the launch on 26 August 2025, the first 100 students through the doors were treated to a complimentary ¼ Chicken & Chips—redeemable simply by showing a valid student ID. The initiative not only created buzz but also supported students at a time when living costs continue to rise.
The new restaurant has generated 20 local jobs and features a vibrant design inspired by Nando’s South African heritage, with custom artwork, timber arches, and banquette seating to enhance the in-restaurant experience.
This launch is more than just another location opening—it reflects Nando’s bold national expansion strategy.
Amanda Banfield, CEO of Nando’s Australia & New Zealand, recently shared in the context of their broader growth plans:
“We’ve been privileged to be part of the Australian restaurant industry for 35 years, and this marks yet another milestone of how Nando’s is evolving. Over the next three years, we’re planning to open another 25 Nando’s restaurants across Australia and New Zealand, growing our workforce by 1,000 people.” (news.com.au)
By focusing on vibrant designs and strategic, community-engaging promotions like the student giveaway, Nando’s is clearly deepening its footprint in metropolitan areas—and establishing foundations for lasting brand presence.
