Sydney, Australia – 29 April 2025 – A popular U.S. sandwich chain, Firehouse Subs, founded by firefighters, has announced its entry into the Australian market, planning to open 165 locations nationwide in the coming years.
The expansion, led by Restaurant Brands International (RBI)—the parent company of Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons—marks Australia as Firehouse Subs’ fourth international market, following Canada, Puerto Rico, and Switzerland. The first location is set to open in Queensland by the end of 2024.
“Firehouse Subs is more than just incredible food—it’s a brand built on purpose, community, and quality,” said Raphael Benjamin, Managing Director of RBI ANZ.
Founded in 1994 by former U.S. firefighters, Firehouse Subs is known for its hot sandwiches made with premium ingredients and unique steaming methods. The company is also committed to supporting first responders through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has donated over $80 million globally.
Firehouse Subs is actively seeking local franchise partners in Australia and targeting high-traffic retail and drive-thru locations to ensure long-term growth.
